American Girl Kansas City is seeking a passionate individual who will balance to be innovative and thrive in a friendly and fast-paced environment.

We are looking for an Experience Manager.  This position will:
 
• Managing daily retail operations to meet revenue, service, and expense goals.
• Provide sales floor leadership to ensure a friendly, positive, and professional work environment for both customers and employees at all times. 
• Develop and maintain community partnerships to enhance the overall American Girl brand.  Based on program/event goals.
• Develop quarterly plan for successful in store and off site programs/events.
• Manage master calendar and communicate changes and additions to appropriate teams. 
• Manage staff of 10-15 employees including Personal Shoppers, Doll Hair Salon Associates, and other retail team members.
• Ensure the delivery of exceptional service by all experience associates and personal shoppers at all times.
• Hire, train, and develop employees.  Foster a productive and harmonious work environment.
• Analyze business.  Work with internal operations and visual partners in the assessment of business performance and development of plans to ensure business success. 
• Execute all job functions in accordance with established American Girl processes and policies.

Requirements:
 
• 3 to 5 years’ experience managing a team of 10 or more employees in a retail setting required.
• Bachelor’s degree in retail/business management or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Well-developed computer skills essential; must be a skilled user of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word. 
• Work schedule requires evening and weekend work. 
• Great relationship building skills.

Primary Duties:
 
• Ensures the safety of all American Girl customers and employees while on store premises
• Prevent the loss of company assets through surveillance,  conducting employee package checks and trash checks
• Provide customer service in a positive, friendly and professional business atmosphere
• Attend and complete First-aid, CPR, AED certifications as scheduled
• Provide timely assistance; follow up, resolution and communication to both internal and external customer concerns.
• Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of all company, store and department policies, procedures and guidelines
• Maintain confidentiality with all matters at all times

Qualifications:
 
• High School Graduate/General Education Degree (GED) with minimum of an Associate’s degree preferred
• Up to 2 years’ experience in Retail Loss Prevention preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Software programs preferred
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are essential
• Able to be firm and courteous when giving instructions
• Must be willing to work a flexible retail schedule, including nights, weekends and off hours
• State specific license if applicable

Other Skills Must enjoy meeting and interacting with customers.  Possess strong sense of urgency and a thirst for learning. 

Work Hours Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends, and busy events such as the day after Thanksgiving, special Big Event days, and the day after Christmas, based on department and store/company needs.
